What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most abundant cannabinoids found in cannabis and hemp plants. Unlike its close relative THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is completely non-psychoactive. This means that CBD does not change a person's state of mind when they use it. This allows us to benefit from the many health properties of the cannabis plant without the negative, intoxicating side effects.
How does CBD work?
CBD effects are a result of its interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS helps maintain homeostasis (aka balance) in our bodies by communicating with other biological systems and helping other systems in the body stay healthy. CBD impacts the ECS indirectly, most often through activation of outside receptors and interaction with enzymes.
What is the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum, and isolate CBD products?
All Sister Stone CBD products are infused with Broad Spectrum Phytocannabinoid-Rich (PCR) Hemp Oil derived from select hemp cultivated in the USA. Our products contain 0.0% THC. If you are buying CBD, it is important to be educated on the different types:
Full spectrum or “whole plant” products contain everything the cannabis plan contains. That means they contain CBD as well as flavonoids, terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN and trace amounts of THC.
Broad spectrum products contain an array of cannabinoids and terpenes but zero THC. Think of Broad Spectrum CBD as Full Spectrum without the THC. To create Broad Spectrum CBD, products are put through additional processing to isolate and remove as much trace amounts of THC possible while preserving the other natural cannabinoids and terpenes. Isolate products are isolated from all other cannabinoids and solely contain CBD. CBD isolate does not preserve other cannabinoids and terpenes found in the hemp and cannabis plant.
Is CBD legal?
CBD regulations are constantly changing. Congress enacted the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, which legalized “hemp” containing no more than 0.3% THC. Therefore, purchasing CBD is federally legal as long as it doesn't contain more than 0.3% THC. However, state laws vary and may put additional restrictions on buyers. It is your responsibility to know your local, state and federal laws before purchasing these products.
How do I use CBD?
CBD-based products come in many forms and a person can take CBD in different ways such as ingesting it orally or using as a topical, depending on the product. Please review each product for suggested use.
How much CBD should I take?
Dosage is not a one size fits all. What works for you, might be completely different for someone else. You may also find yourself wanting to adjust your dose based on your desired effect and mood. Discovering the right dose is a highly individualized process and generally depends on the following factors: body weight, tolerance, desired effect, and concentration.
If you are new, we encourage you to start with a smaller dosage then gradually increase to achieve desired results. Please review each product for suggested use.
